Oh. my. goodness.
I have been following Emmy’s work for years now. YEARS. (And you can follow her work too, just click here!) I am totally in love with her art and amazed by her talent, so when I saw that she was given the opportunity to install her work at the Chicago Flower and Garden Show at Navy Pier, I knew I had to photograph it. So I reached out, things worked out, and Jason and I headed out to Navy Pier Friday night for the pre-opening show.
If you aren’t familiar with Emmy’s art yet, here is a little bit about her:
She salvages windows and freehand paints her creations right on the glass. Yes, even the typography (freehand!!) right on the glass.
She was the 2012 Sharpie artist of the year (view her sharpie info here and I’m sure you’ve seen her cute face on an MTV commercial here)
Annnnndddd she’s awesome. Enough said :) Enjoy the pics!!!
NBC5 Chicago did a live interview with Emmy right before the show opened
and here she is with Leeann Trotter!
Emmy and I in front of the installation
the show had some other STUNNING installations, you seriously need to go and check it out!
nothing better than a walking exhibit, and the twins below were one :) And then there’s Emmy being fiesty :)
