Dana and Eric have been together for 7 years, and met at a Halloween party back in high school. These two are the real deal. The maturity and love they show in their relationship is something you immediately take note of within minutes of meeting them (I remember thinking that when we first hung out for their Chicago engagement session here!). The two spent a majority of their relationship between Illinois and Wisconsin, so it was only fitting that Eric proposed on the border of the two states (in the same location he first told Dana he loved her). They chose the Geneva National Golf Club in beautiful Lake Geneva at the setting for both their ceremony and reception. The ceremony overlooked the lake, with the cross as the focal point. This wasn’t just any old cross though, friends of the family made it from a 200 year old Oak Tree from Dana’s back yard that she grew up with. They wanted a piece of home and their past to be with them on their wedding day, and this was the perfect idea. We managed to avoid rain for most of the day, right until the vows were going to be exchanged :) Their was a quick 10 minute break in the ceremony for a small rain storm, but then everything proceeded as normal and the rest of the day went off without a hitch (and no more rain!). Dana and Eric handled it like pros though, because they weren’t just celebrating their wedding, they knew they were celebrating their marriage – something that lasts well beyond the day of the wedding. This was such a fun wedding to be a part of (Jason and I took a few extra days to stay in Lake Geneva as well!), and I cannot wait to share the pictures (my favorites are their first look on the dock of Dana’s parent’s house on Lake Delavan!). Enjoy!!!
